50m of Steel Box Section
We use high-quality steel box section which is encased in HDPE to create a water tight seal, so we get the rigidity of steel without the corrosion.
HIGH QUALITY WELDING
Welded by EN13067 qualified welder with a top of the range extrusion welder. HDPE welds are mechanical bonds, so the weld is as strong as the material.
HDPE HONEYCOMB SHEET
For the sides of the boat we use a honeycomb HDPE sheet which has air-tight chambers inside. This helps with strength and greatly increases the insulation (R) value.
Inbetween each HDPE encased steel box section, sits a layer of rebar reinforced concrete. These sections are capped off by another layer of welded HDPE, so if in the unlikely situation the bottom was punctured it would only alllow a tiny amount of water into one of the 30 water-tight chambers.
